So i really wanted to take the time to write about my minimalist makeup collection. I have already done a minimalist makeup collection video and i did mention that all of my makeup items were cruelty free and vegan. However, at the time I didn’t know that about one to three of those beauty products were not cruelty free. I thought that like Tarte the other makeup brands that I have (Urban Decay, Nars and Bare Minerals) were just like Tarte and had all of the items cruelty free. I did some research and I saw that the other three brands in my minimalist makeup collection were on the list of being cruelty free and for these specific makeup brands only some of their items are cruelty free. So if you’re getting into buying cruelty free makeup item this is really important to know before you go shopping for new cruelty free makeup.
Currently in my minimalist makeup collection I have three items that are not cruelty free and the rest are cruelty free. The items that are not cruelty free that are currently in my minimalist makeup collection are:
I did a look on Urban Decay’s website and i saw that they had another mascara which is vegan. I’m going to be switching out this mascara for that cruelty free mascara when I can.
Marvelous Moxie Bare Minerals Lipgloss in the color Rebel
I did some research and I saw that some other shades of their marvelous moxie line are vegan but i’m not sure if the color rebel (which is the one that I have) is vegan and cruelty-free. So this is why I’m unsure about this cruelty free makeup item.
Naked Urban Decay Basics Eyeshadow Palette
This one is not vegan and cruelty-free so I’m going definitely going to be switching this one out for another one when I can.
The rest of the makeup items I have in my minimalist makeup collection are Tarte, Naked skin Urban Decay concealer (which is vegan and cruelty-free), a clear brow gel from Anastasia Beverly Hills which is vegan and and i have the Nars pure radiant tinted moisturizer which is cruelty free. I’m so glad that the Nars pure radiant tinted moisturizer is cruelty free because I love this tinted moisturizer and I wear it sometimes when I feel like I need little tint on my face. Other than the three products that i mentioned above everything else in my minimalist makeup collection video is cruelty free.
I definitely am going to be doing an updated minimalist makeup collection post later on when I get those switched out and by that time all of the makeup items that I have are going to be cruelty-free and vegan. My makeup collection is always going to be minimalist because when i first started getting into makeup and buying makeup (which was like about my early 20s) I always wanted a few items like no more than seven products or something like that. This was even before I knew about minimalism and then after I found out about minimalism thought to myself “Well my makeup collection is minimalist”. I’ve always been a minimalistic type of person when it comes to makeup because I don’t really see the need of having too many make up items and buying the latest makeup items. I just like to buy a few high-quality makeup items in my makeup collection.
So I just wanted to write about my minimalist makeup collection and just let you know about the cruelty-free and non cruelty free products that I have which I wasn’t aware at the time and thought that they were cruelty-free. I hope this helps someone who is interested in going cruelty free and didn’t know which makeup brands and items are cruelty free. Comment below any cruelty free makeup brands that are your favorite!
